A new car from the Mercedes SLK, Mercedes has published an official details of the new SLK, following the car, opening AOS deliberate on French-language video late last year.
Set to make its debut at the Merc, 125 AOS birthday celebration in Stuttgart at the end of this month, two-seat roadster has a platform of new rear-wheel drive, diesel variant and what engineers claim is more sporting chassis. It also looks less aggressive than outgoing model.
Design of new Mercedes SLK
The new SLK continues to avoid the roof fabric to re-version of the old model, AOS folding hard-top. It now offers a choice of standard aluminum, glass fixed glass panel color or electro-magnetic variable-color.
Inside, there, a new dashboard AOS angle, that of the SLS model, with typical ventilation, re instruments, switchgear is more contemporary and a variety of new trims.
Three petrol engines are confirmed for launch. They included a pair of 1.8-liter turbocharged unit, producing 184bhp in the SLK200 and the SLK250 is 204bhp. SLK200 gets a standard six-speed manual gearbox and has a claimed 0-62mph 7.0sec.
New Mercedes SLK Performance
Topping the launch line-up will be the SLK350, which displays the Mercedes, the new V6 AO. Direct-injection engine 3.5-liter kicking out 306bhp with the unit that replaces the SLK line-up. But in combination with the performance of seven-speed automatic and a number of fuel-saving features, including stop-start, it offers a much better standard and economy. SLK350 has a 0-62mph time of 5.6sec and 39.8mpg claimed combined.
The new SLK is also set to offer diesel engines: a, twin-turbo 2.1-liter four-pot with 204bhp. Replacement SLK55 also destined for the UK at the end of the year. It will use a normally aspirated version of the AMG, the 5.5-liter V8 new AOS, producing close to 420bhp.
