2012 Ford C-MAX is a new car that could be used as an alternative transportation affordable, flexible seating and interior space appealing, sporty performance and best in fuel economy car class.
“Ford C-MAX provides still more evidence of how our One Ford plan to continue to deliver high-quality, fuel-efficient products people really want,” said Mark Fields, Ford’s president of The Americas. “C-MAX is just right for customers in North America looking for style, flexible transportation and life improving technologies that come standard.”
New C-MAX is part of a small global vehicle strategy Ford Motor Company that will provide at least 10 vehicles – and 2 million vehicles per year – from single-platform C-vehicles in 2012.
This new compact family vehicle introduces a number of unique features including the industry-exclusive hands-free power-operated rear liftgate configuration versatile 5 +2 seat with five seats in the main cabin and two small seats in the third row, twin sliding doors and active park assist, the new sophisticated system that automatically directs the vehicle into parallel parking spaces.
“This all-new model is set to take small crossover performance to a new level, giving drivers a class-leading combination of responsive, sporty handling, and improved overall and tranquility similar to the standard found in larger luxury vehicles,” said John Davis , chief engineer for the North American C-MAX.
Chassis technology in the Ford C-MAX include completely new electric power-assisted steering (EPAS), a new design optimized for rear Control Blade multilink suspension and semi-isolated front subframe and torque vectoring control of a new standard to further enhance cornering stability and agility.
