Review

BMW’s all about performance. Since the introduction of 1600-1602 in 1966, legions of fans have bought this car company based in Munich, the smallest in the search for the perfect balance of practicality and power. Over the last two decades, the marque has also been a concern of those seeking prestige. This last group of admirers has a profound impact on the fate of the company, making BMW the second best-selling German manufacturers in the United States.

Things have changed since 1966, though, including the name of the line BMW’s smallest car. Since 1977, mention BMW 3 Series models such as, and for 2000 it ranks fourth car suffered major redesign. For model year 2000, the coupe BMW stole the spotlight with a complete redesign of their own. Sharing a platform with 3 Series sedan, coupe received a standard five-speed manual transmission, sport-tuned suspension, and ventilated disc brakes front and rear. Two versions available: 323Ci, which has a 2.5-liter inline six that makes 170 horsepower at 5500 rpm, and the 328Ci with a 2.8-liter inline six makes 193 horsepower at 5500 rpm. Torque output at the 323Ci is 181 foot-pounds at 3500 rpm. 328 more powerful coupe from zero to 60 in just 6.6 seconds and makes 206 pound-feet of torque at 3500 rpm. Both engines meet Low Emission Vehicle (LEV) standard. Sixteen-inch alloy wheels standard on the coupe, but the 17-inch alloy can be purchased as an option. A five-speed transmission STEPTRONIC automanual also optional for those who do not want to shift gears themselves.
